RJ11 6P4C connector is the standard clear plastic plug used to connect traditional landline telephones, fax machines, and DSL modems to wall jacks worldwide. The name 6P4C stands for 6 Positions, 4 Contacts. The plastic shell has 6 physical slots (positions), but only the middle 4 slots contain the gold-plated metal pins (contacts) needed to carry electrical signals.
